- Barbara Streisand performed in concert for the first time in more than 20 years to christen the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
- The Rolling Stones, Bette Midler and Neil Diamond have also appeared in this versatile state-of-the-art facility which is used for both sporting and entertainment events.
- The arena has also hosted several heavyweight championship fights including Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson and George Foreman's shocking defeat of Michael Moorer.

Gatsby's - intimate dining fuses a blend of eclectic California and French cuisines with the largest wine selection in the state of Nevada.

- A new 6.6-acre pool and spa complex, nearly twice the present size, is currently under construction at the MGM Grand. When completed, the Shangri-La pool and spa complex will be one of the most elegant swimming and sunbathing experiences in the world. Set in a lavish environment with a system of connected pools and tributaries, the complex will feature several pools, lush landscaping, rivers, bridges, fountains and waterfalls.

- MGM Grand Adventures is an exciting outdoor entertainment complex filled with rides, shows, entertainment, casual dining and shops located throughout themed streets and city facades.
- Guests will be amazed and astonished by SkyScreamer, the world's tallest Skycoaster at 250 feet. Brave "flyers" will experience the thrill of a lifetime when they pull their own ripcord, drop from the top of a 220-foot neon green launch tower and soar through the air at speeds up to 70 miles-per-hour. - Your next meeting or event, both now and in the future, will have extra impact when you hold it at the MGM Grand Hotel/Casino. Our resort, recipient of a Mobil Guide Four-Star Award in 1996 and 1997, is continuing to enhance its meeting and conference facilities.
- In March 1998, MGM Grand will open a new 380,000-square-foot state-of-the-art conference center.
- For now, our more than 125,000 square feet of meeting, banquet, trade show, and conference space - in the hotel, Grand Garden Arena and outdoors in Grand Adventures - can do it all. Our sales department will be your liaison for the entire function including reservations, scheduling, menu selection and event planning.
- MGM Grand is proud to be capable of accommodating virtually any group or function.

| MGM Grand Renovations |
- The MGM Grand as undergone a full transition, from the original “Emerald City” Wizard of Oz theme, the property has now transformed itself to a Luxury, Classic Hollywood Movie theme which include new restaurants such as Nobhill, Pearl, craftsteak, FiAMMA, and SeaBlue (Chef Michael Mina, opening Oct. 25th) and the new lounges Tabu and Zuri. Also, Wolfgang Puck will now be affiliated with Wolfgang Puck Café and make guest appearances.
- Renovated Public Spaces include New public restrooms, slot machines, table games, and carpeting throughout the property, new Elevator Lobby area with fountain and The Park – public events, concerts, festivals and private events.
- These improvements will continue in to 2004 with New Cirque du Soleil Show – Summer 2004 ($125 Million), City-wide Monorail (major station) – Opening January 25, 2004 and Wichcraft – New specialty deli opening 1st quarter 2004.
